Minister of finance Andrian Gavriliță meets young leaders at ADEPT School

The ADEPT School of Young Political Leaders hosted a meeting with Minister of Finance Andrian Gavriliță, offering young participants an opportunity for a direct dialogue on the role of the state in the economy, the fiscal system, and the key challenges facing public finances.

During the discussion, Andrian Gavriliță spoke about the importance of understanding how economic decisions are made and how they shape everyday life and development prospects.

The session covered current issues such as housing prices, VAT on imports, tax fairness, and the need for a system focused on competitiveness. Andrian Gavriliță highlighted the importance of clear rules applied equally to everyone, ensuring that public resources are used efficiently and generate real economic impact, including for the development of regional communities.

Special attention was given to the role of financial education, which Andrian Gavriliță described as essential for shaping an informed and responsible generation. Participants also discussed the complexity of the current tax system, the time-consuming administrative processes it involves, and the need for policies that support economic activity while maintaining a balanced approach between state intervention and market freedom.

At the end of the session, participants took part in a practical exercise simulating the allocation of the state budget across different sectors. The activity helped them better understand the decision-making process, the need to set spending priorities, and the responsibility that comes with managing public resources. Such exercises strengthen critical thinking, analytical skills, and civic engagement.
